The 1st Japan-US Chorus Charity Concert was held on May 20th, 2011, only a few months after the Great Eastern Japan Earthquake. Featuring "HAGI", a chorus group from Sendai, one of the cities severely damaged by the disaster, the concert turned out to be a great success. Generous donation from the full-house audience was delivered to Sendai and Miyagi prefecture to support the recovery from the devastation. The concert is coming back to the Carnegie on October 19th, 2013 (7:00p.m.). This time, we invite the Fukusima Mothers' Chorus Association from Fukushima prefecture, Japan; another area heavily hit not only by the earthquake but also its aftermath of radiation contamination and harmful rumors. Despite such devastated environment, the members keep singing and you will see at the Carnegie that their voices never give up. Also featured is the Harmony Celebration Chorus, a female barbershop chorus group from New Jersey. Their powerful voices and dancing will attract the audience.
